Ripple revealed a vulnerability in XRP Ledger allowing token minting
Ripple has identified a critical vulnerability in the XRP Ledger blockchain that allowed tokens to be created out of thin air for 11 years.
The discovery coincided with controversy surrounding Ledger wallets. The company decided to publicly report the protocol security flaw.
The vulnerability existed since the network's launch. Attackers could mint unlimited amounts of XRP without restrictions.
