Recycling fee for imported cars may rise to 5.8 million

As of January 1, the recycling fee for some foreign cars may increase to 5.8 million rubles. Autonews journalists recalculated the new payment costs for popular car models.

The tariff hike will affect premium SUVs and crossovers. Owners of such vehicles will have to pay significant amounts when registering their vehicles.

Recycling Fee

• Lexus LX 570 — 5.79 million in fees
• Land Cruiser 300 — 5.09 million rubles
• BMW X5 — 4.26 million rubles

Despite the overall rate increase, preferential conditions remain for individuals. Also, benefits apply to vehicles with power up to 160 horsepower.
