Pensioner clears 400,000 rubles in speeding fines
A 69-year-old pensioner from the Chelyabinsk region has accumulated over 400,000 rubles in fines for systematically exceeding speed limits on roads in the Urals and Perm Krai. Bailiffs opened more than 150 enforcement proceedings against the woman, attempting to recover the debt by deducting funds from her pension.
The problem was exacerbated by the fact that cameras are recording violations by a driver moving in a Mercedes on the highways of the Sverdlovsk Region, Chelyabinsk Region, and Perm Krai.
The classic method of debt collection through pension deductions proved ineffective for fully covering the debt. The situation changed only after bailiffs threatened to put the car on a wanted list and tow it to an impound lot.
The fear of losing her car led the woman to promptly pay off the entire accumulated debt. This case demonstrates the effectiveness of threatening vehicle confiscation when working with debtors.
