OpenAI DevDay 2026 Highlights: Models, API, and Office Tools
The OpenAI DevDay conference showcased new products and updates for the ChatGPT platform, aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into workflows.
Model and Plan Updates
The GPT-6.1 Sol model offers performance levels comparable to Astra but costs five times less per token. It features improvements in agentic programming and computer control capabilities.
For users requiring high speed, the premium Ultrafast plan is available, offering up to 8x acceleration in Codex and 6x in the API. The new Pro 500 tier increases limits by 25 times compared to Plus.
Developer Tools and Agents
The Agents Platform now supports multi-agent orchestration, tool retrieval, and context compression. The computer use feature enables agents to interact with software interfaces.
Codex has added cloud execution, voice control via CLI, and a Security Cloud function for automatically scanning repositories and preparing fixes.
Decisions API helps models answer questions with fixed options, which is useful for task classification and routing in autonomous agents.
Ecosystem and Office Solutions
ChatGPT is introducing collaboration features: Spaces for teams, Pages for documents, and collaborative slides exportable to PowerPoint or Google Slides.
Sign in with ChatGPT allows users to use their subscription as a payment method with 16 partners, including Notion and Vercel. Marketplace Enterprise provides access to software from companies like Adobe and Salesforce.
