OpenAI introduces ads into ChatGPT for free users

OpenAI has announced the launch of an advertising model in the ChatGPT service. Banners will be displayed directly during image generation.

Testing of this new format will begin as early as this month. Ads will be shown to a portion of free-tier users.

However, the company guarantees that ads will not appear in sensitive conversations. Users with Plus and Pro subscriptions will remain ad-free.

Introducing monetization through built-in banners reflects CEO Sam Altman's strategy to increase the platform's revenue.
