OpenAI and Anthropic Ban Application Reverse Engineering

OpenAI and Anthropic Ban Application Reverse Engineering

The largest artificial intelligence developers, including OpenAI and Anthropic, have introduced strict restrictions on the use of their language models. Users are prohibited from using these technologies to clean devices of junk or create free alternatives to paid software.

The companies' security policies differ in severity. While the Claude model simply refuses to execute such requests, attempts to force ChatGPT to perform application reverse engineering result in immediate account bans.

The ban also covers popular reverse engineering tools such as REA, which allowed cloning any applications. Amidst stricter rules, major players are once again ceding leadership to more open solutions.
