New Xbox CEO: Challenges for Microsoft
Microsoft has appointed Asha Sharma as the new head of Xbox, despite her complete lack of experience in the gaming industry. The IT sector executive must completely overhaul the console's branding and change the division's development strategy.
Currently, Xbox is losing market share, significantly lagging behind Sony PlayStation 5 in sales volume. To improve efficiency, the company has begun reducing its workforce and reallocating resources in favor of its largest game franchises.
The main issue remains the high cost of the new console, which ranges from $1,200 to $1,800 USD. Such prices significantly limit potential demand and create additional risks for the new leadership.
