Meta Unveils Autonomous AI Keychain Muse Charm with 5G

At the Connect 2026 conference, Meta unveiled the Muse Charm, an autonomous keychain for interacting with a personal AI agent without needing a smartphone.

The device is roughly the size of an AirPods case and features a 2-inch touchscreen with an animated, customizable character. Inside, it houses a built-in 5G modem that allows operation without Wi-Fi or a phone, along with a fingerprint scanner for activation.

The AI agent operates via voice: it answers questions, processes email, controls apps on Macs, and handles background tasks. The device integrates with Walmart, Best Buy, PayPal, Expedia, Notion, GitHub, and Dropbox services, enabling it to make purchases and work with code.

Currently, the device is a prototype. A small test batch will be released this winter, with an official launch expected in December 2026. The price has not yet been announced.
