Mastercard integrates Open USD stablecoin via BVNK
Mastercard is integrating the Open USD stablecoin into its payment infrastructure through a partnership with BVNK. This solution aims to provide corporate clients with access to the OUSD digital dollar.
The integration allows businesses to use the digital dollar alongside traditional tools without creating separate crypto infrastructure.
The stablecoin was issued by Open Standard and is designed for international payments, settlements, and liquidity management. Mastercard does not create its own asset but connects an existing product to its network.
Through the BVNK platform, companies will be able to issue and redeem OUSD at a 1:1 ratio without fees. This simplifies the process of integrating digital assets into standard financial operations.
The project is part of the OUSD ecosystem, which also includes Visa, Stripe, Solana, Uniswap, Chainlink, and Kraken.
