Lifetime Ban on Tobacco Sales for Those Born After 2009

Lifetime Ban on Tobacco Sales for Those Born After 2009

An initiative to impose a lifetime ban on the sale of e-cigarettes and tobacco products for individuals born after 2009 is under review.

Such a 'generational' ban is already in effect in the UK and the Maldives. The idea originated in New Zealand, where the law was repealed before officially coming into force.

The new measure implies that people older than the specified age will have to purchase prohibited items for the younger generation themselves.
