Ledger Wallet Theft Losses Reach $86 Million

Massive thefts of cryptocurrencies from Ledger wallets have reached $86 million, which may be just the beginning of a series of incidents.

A CryptoQuant analyst noted the unprecedented scale of the thefts and warned of increasing losses.

According to the expert, this is not about isolated hacks but a systemic compromise of devices through the reseller CryptoBilis. If the devices were compromised before sale, stopping the attack is extremely difficult. Ledger cannot remotely protect users and can only address the aftermath.

Owners of new devices are advised to urgently transfer assets to exchanges or other wallets. The exact cause of the mass thefts remains unknown.
