Ledger Investigates $86 Million Cryptocurrency Theft

Ledger is investigating cryptocurrency theft incidents totaling over $86 million. Preliminary data suggests that some affected users in Southeast Asia purchased hardware wallets from the reseller CryptoBilis.

During the investigation, Ledger has ordered the seller to suspend sales and shipments of its devices. Users who bought wallets from this reseller within the last 90 days are strongly advised not to activate them.

Those already using such wallets are advised to transfer their funds to a new device by generating a new seed phrase to ensure asset security.

The cause of the thefts remains undetermined, and hacking of Ledger devices themselves has not been confirmed. There is also no evidence proving that all loss cases are solely linked to CryptoBilis' actions.
