Kazakhstan Introduces Entry Permits for Russians

The Government of Kazakhstan has approved a project requiring Russian citizens to obtain a special permit for entry into the country. The document is free of charge and valid for six months.

The permit must be obtained no later than 72 hours before the intended border crossing date. This requirement aims to streamline migration flows and control entry.

New entry rules for Russian citizens will come into force on July 1, 2027. Until that date, previous conditions apply without the need for additional permits.

The approved document regulates the procedure for Russians entering Kazakhstan. The process is free but requires strict adherence to application deadlines.
