Inmo has initiated a recall of its Air3 smart glasses due to the risk of serious burns. Prolonged use causes the left temple arm of the device to overheat, which can lead to facial injuries and damage to the area around the left ear.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has classified the risk as capable of causing serious injury or death from burns. According to the regulator, there have already been 10 complaints from users regarding thermal injuries.
The recall covers more than 1,600 pairs of glasses sold in the United States and Canada between December 2025 and August 2026. The device was marketed through the official website, Amazon, and Kickstarter at prices ranging from $900 to $1,300.
The manufacturer advises owners to immediately stop using the device and contact customer support. The defect will be resolved via a free firmware update; hardware replacement is not required.
The overheating issue has long been known within the community. Reviews pointed out the hot temple arm as early as seven months ago, but the company initially only included a protective case in the box to prevent direct skin contact.
