Ideogram 4.5 Edit: New Image Editing Capabilities
Ideogram has unveiled the 4.5 Edit model, combining image generation and editing in a single solution. The new release offers advanced tools for precise work with visual content.
Key Features
- Multi-turn editing allows multiple sequential edits with minimal distortion of original details, colors, and textures.
- Precise Edit mode restores unchanged pixels directly from the original, excluding their re-generation.
- The input consists of one main image and up to four additional references to define style or context.
Flexible Settings and Masking
The model supports two precision levels: Regular Edit for standard changes and High/Precise Edit to preserve background structure. When using a mask, the reference limit decreases to three images.
A mask is not mandatory; without it, the algorithm independently identifies areas for modification based on the text description. With a mask, you can strictly limit the editing zone, which is especially useful when working with high resolution (up to 24.2 megapixels) via the Zoom Editing function.
Technical Improvements and API
A key technical innovation is the mitigation of error accumulation during sequential edits. The model has also improved text translation, rewriting, restoration, styling, and sketch-to-image conversion functions.
The API is already available for developers, and model weights will be released soon. The current version is accessible through official channels and aggregators.
