Hingewave Screen Folding Animation for Mobile and PC Devices

Hingewave is an open-source project demonstrating innovative screen folding animation for various devices. The technology supports iPhone Duo, MacBook lids, Windows laptops, and Android smartphones.

The mechanism simulates the physical behavior of the screen when closing the device lid. The desktop remains unchanged, while the image on the glass tilts, mimicking fogging and darkening in the hinge area as it approaches the edge.

Upon opening the lid, the visual effect smoothly returns to its original state. The physical hinge acts as a timeline, ensuring synchronization between movement and graphics.

The system reads angle sensor data every 20 milliseconds. The GPU processes this data to redraw the image in real time, accurately displaying the user's hand movements on the screen.
