Fortnite Player Jailed for Chat Threats
FBI agents arrested a 29-year-old resident of Alabama after Epic Games handed over recordings of his threats from the Fortnite voice chat.
The player screamed that he would kill his teammates in real life and promised to shoot at agents if they came to his home.
Epic sent the recordings and account data on September 20, and the player was detained on the 23rd. The gamer denies everything and awaits trial in custody.
If found guilty of excessive rage, he could face up to five years behind bars and a fine of up to $250,000.
