Expelled Students Banned from Reentering Same University

Expelled Students Banned from Reentering Same University

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education has developed a new draft law that could enter into force as early as March 1, 2027. The document proposes banning repeated admission to the same university for students expelled for disciplinary or academic reasons.

The initiative aims to increase student accountability and reduce turnover rates in higher education institutions across the country.

The rule limits the number of attempts to enter a specific university to one. If a student is expelled, they lose the right to reapply to that same institution.

Students will be able to resume studies at the same university only five years after their expulsion. This lengthy period is intended to encourage applicants to carefully choose their field of study and university.

  1. Students receive one attempt to enter their chosen university
  2. Reapplication is permitted no earlier than 5 years later
  3. The draft law is planned to be adopted by March 1, 2027
