Europe closes the path for Russian students
Russian citizens are finding it increasingly difficult to obtain education in European countries. The European Union has begun mass refusals of student visas for applicants from the Russian Federation.
The situation with obtaining education
Previously, refusals on political grounds primarily affected students in technical fields. Now, these restrictions apply to all areas of study without exception.
Examples of visa refusals
- A graduate of the Higher School of Economics (HSE) wanted to enroll in a German university of arts but received a refusal.
- The reason cited was concerns that the knowledge gained could be used to harm Germany.
