Engineer Poisoned Colleague with Cadmium
In California, an engineer who poisoned a colleague with cadmium through their water supply for two years received only one day in jail. The victim suffered from vomiting and hair loss until she installed a hidden camera.
The hidden camera allowed the victim to catch her engineer colleague in the act of committing the crime. He was mixing the substance into the water supplied to the employee, leading to severe health consequences.
For nearly two years, the woman could not find the cause of her symptoms, visiting hospitals and even flying to China for treatment. Doctors failed to identify any pathologies until she began suspecting her colleagues.
Water analysis confirmed the presence of cadmium at levels 3.5 million times higher than the norm. This explained the chronic health problems, including severe hair loss and constant nausea.
The engineer made a plea deal with prosecutors in exchange for a lighter sentence. Ultimately, he served just one day and received two years of probation, despite the severity of his actions.
The convicted man is now attempting to have his conviction expunged. However, his victim has posted the surveillance footage online to ensure the public never forgets what he did.
