Demand for IT Specialists in Russia Halves
Russia's IT labor market is experiencing a significant cooling. According to recent research data, demand for IT specialists has dropped sharply, leading to an oversupply of candidates and a reduction in the number of open positions.
The decline in demand has affected key professions in the industry. The number of vacancies for programmers has decreased by 47%, while that for testers has fallen by 55%. This indicates a substantial slowdown in companies' activity in developing new products.
Competition for jobs has increased significantly. Now, more than 6 people are competing for each IT vacancy, whereas this figure was previously around 3 candidates. The rise in competition is directly linked to changes in market conditions.
The main reasons for this situation lie in two factors. First, there is a general slowdown in the development of new software products. Second, the active development of artificial intelligence is changing requirements for work processes and employment structures within the sector.
