Claude Bans Users for Using VPN

Anthropic has implemented a new geolocation verification system for its Claude artificial intelligence service. The platform now identifies users' actual locations and blocks access when circumvention tools are detected.

Initially, mass bans targeted users from China connecting via servers in Singapore and other regions. The service is officially unavailable in mainland China and Russia.

The new policy resulted in immediate loss of access to all accounts, including chat history. This move was a response to attempts to bypass the platform's geographic restrictions.
