CBRF Tightens Control Over Crypto Transfers
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation has developed new anti-money laundering (AML) rules that apply to participants in the cryptocurrency market. The regulator plans to require crypto depositories to reject transactions if they lack information about the sender and recipient of funds.
New requirements will affect not only depositories but also brokers, trust managers, and operators of digital financial assets (DFAs). The document also mentions crypto exchanges, although the specific AML control procedures for them have not yet been defined.
