Blast shuts down: asset withdrawal until October 26
Blast is shutting down because current network maintenance costs exceed revenues. Assets can be withdrawn via the standard interface until October 26.
History and Investments
In 2023–2024, Blast was one of the most hyped L2 projects. It was launched by Pacman, founder of Blur. Even before the mainnet launch, users deposited over $2 billion (TVL) into Blast for points and a future airdrop.
Previously, the project raised $20 million from Paradigm, Standard Crypto, eGirl Capital, Primitive Ventures, and other major investors. Blast exposure also featured in the portfolio of current Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh through Abstract Holdings.
