Arthur Hayes' Forecast: Ethereum to Reach $10,000 by Year-End

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes shared his Ethereum forecast in an interview with CoinDesk during Korea Blockchain Week. According to him, the price of ETH could reach $10,000 by the end of the year.

Optimism Based on High Market Cap and Relative Network Reliability

Hayes explained his optimism by citing high market capitalization and, in his opinion, the relative reliability of Ethereum among first-layer blockchains.

When asked about his target price for ETH, he replied:

Ten thousand dollars by the end of the year. I like Ethereum because I can deploy significant capital into it. I’m not afraid to wake up one day and see a 75% drop due to some exploit.

Competitive Advantage and Historical Context of Network Development

Regarding the reasons for Ethereum lagging behind other networks, Hayes noted that at certain times, market attention shifted to competitors.

In particular, Solana was able to attract significant interest thanks to the meme coin sector, which contributed to its rapid rise in popularity.

According to Hayes, Ethereum was one of the first to promote the concept of a decentralized computer, but later faced limitations in speed and scalability.

Against this backdrop, other blockchains emerged that were able to offer solutions to these problems.
