First Game of Thrones Film to Be Released in 2029
The theatrical release of the first full-length film based on the "Game of Thrones" universe is scheduled for June 1, 2029. The project is titled "Aegon's Conquest" and tells the story of the first Targaryen to conquer Westeros and build the Iron Throne.
The film production has been entrusted to a team of experienced industry professionals. Bo Willismon, known for his work on the series "Andor," is responsible for the screenplay, while Owen Harris, who directed "Knight of Seven Kingdoms," will take the director's chair. This marks the first time a major feature film is being released within this franchise.
The plot unfolds approximately three hundred years before the events of the original series and a century before the start of "House of the Dragon." The story centers on Aegon and his sisters, Visenya and Rhaenys, along with their three dragons, which became the key weapon in the conquest of the continent.
